MicroPilot Launches HORIZONFLEET UAV Fleet
MicroPilot launches HORIZONFLEET, a new online service for MicroPilot customers to track and manage their UAV fleet.
December 9, 2018 – Stony Mountain, Canada – HORIZONFLEET is an online UAV / flight management system that provides users the ability to log details of UAV flights, and manage UAV model configurations and units. Integration with HORIZONCLOUD allows users to access files collected by HORIZONCLOUD and link connected files to flight logs for more convenient tracking of their flights and results.
As airspace becomes increasingly crowded, it is more important than ever for UAV operators to keep track of their drones. Information such as what operations they are undertaking, for how long, where, and for whom, for example. This not only helps UAV operators track their own drones but also automatically creates an operational history for each drone to satisfy regulators. UAV operators can track their own users and operational hours can be monitored for maintenance, determining average time by mission type, and linking hours to pilots.
“Knowing where your drones are and what they are doing is a key part of regulatory compliance.” Says Howard Loewen, President of MicroPilot. “HORIZONFLEET simplifies this task and keeps the fleet manager up to date on what her drones are doing.”
As drones undertake more tasks, fulfill more roles, and become a bigger part of our daily lives, the weight of responsibility on the industry increases and must be ready to respond. HORIZONFLEET provides a way for UAV operators to help meet the coming demands and responsibilities on the industry in a way that is economical and easy to manage.
