On December 10th 2015, the first group of 163 privately sponsored Syrians refugees touched down in Toronto's Pearson International Airport. By the first week of January 2016, over 7,000 refugees had made their way to Canada and by the end of this year, Canada plans to take in at least 50,000 refugees.

The employees of MicroPilot were touched by the compassion and care that so many Canadians have shown to families across the world in war-torn Syria. Together, we have decided to combine our efforts and sponsor a family of four in hopes of giving them a new beginning in the nation that has given us so much and has allowed us to succeed both personally and professionally.

Our goal is to raise $35,000 CAD, enough to bring a family to Canada, support them for one year and to give them a new start. The money raised will provide:

• Initial financial support to help get them to Canada
• Assistance with housing, including basic furnishings
• Assistance with daily life including groceries, cold-weather clothing, prescription drugs/glasses, household supplies, etc.

In addition to financial help, we will also donate our time (transportation to meetings, arranging language lessons and more) as well as various household and clothing items.
