Isn't 24 bits of resolution overkill?

A resolution of 24 bits actually isn't overkill if you are using sensors with a low voltage output. If your sensor's output is only one tenth of the range of the ADC's, you can still connect it to the ADC without an amplifier. You would effectively reduce your resolution to 20 bits, but this is still sufficient for most applications.

Why do you have to calibrate the ADC channel?

All sensors are slightly different, and so we provide the capability of calibrating each input channel of the ADC.

Why do you need to temperature-calibrate an ADC channel?

Most sensors are affected by temperature. In order to improve the performance of your sensors, we provide a two-point temperature calibration for each ADC input. MicroPilot also provides a GUI application to help you temperature calibrate your sensors.

Why do you sell an aluminum enclosure instead of carbon fiber?

The weight penalty is not all that great. Aluminum is easier to modify and customize.

What is the difference between a 3D compass and a 2D compass?

A 2D compass only gives correct orientation information when it is level. If it is pitched or rolled, then it only reads a portion of the magnetic vector and large errors can result.
